WWII fighter planes

All right, here is my opinion. We had the P-47, P-51 and P-38. The P-47 was good for ground strafing because it had a radial engine and could continue to fly even after taking a lot of punishment. It was also a good plane at high altitudes. But it was too heavy and cumbersome for me. The P-51was a great little fighter. It was quick and had great range. The P-38 was not as quick as the P-51, but it was just as fast. It was faster than the others in a shallow glide or climb. It had great range, had TWO engines, which was a lifesaver when flying over lots of water or jungle, and it had four .50 cal. machine guns and one 20 mm cannon all of which fired straight ahead. It had counter-rotating props and, unlike the single-engine fighters, it had no bad stall characteristics.
